Let's be honest a lot of these current crop of players are just not up to it. In the last 25 years we've had better squads who made the quarters. We are now a 2nd round at best side.

As you can see the meteoric rise of the English national team with its inclusion and focus on non-English players coincided with the domestic game importing anyone average who wasn't biologically English.
The fact that the above chairman, not to mention parasitic agents stealing the soul from the game over the past 40 years were directly responsible for this, was not yet mentioned by me, until now.
